Bishop Gary G. Hayles
Founder & Senior Pastor of The City of Promise Church located in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is one of the most contemporary, revolutionary voices in the Body of Christ. Through the Preached Word he seeks to develop and equip God’s people to understand their purpose, their calling, and God's promise in the Kingdom of God. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Bishop Hayles received his undergraduate degree from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He holds advanced degrees from Cincinnati Bible Seminary and San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Bishop Hayles received a Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in 2011. He is a 2013 graduate of Proclaimer’s Place Expositional Preaching Program under Dr. Joel Gregory at Oxford University in England. Bishop Hayles was consecrated to serve in the Office of Bishop in 2016 under Bishop Joby and Pastor Sheryl Brady within the River International Fellowship of Churches.
He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Preaching in the new Doctor of Ministry program at Northern Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. During his pastoral tenure, Bishop Hayles has
received many notable awards including; being selected as Cincinnati’s Pastor of the Year, recognized as one of the Top 50 Preachers from Cincinnati by Cincinnati Christian University, recognition by the Cincinnati Enquirer as one of the 100 Most Influential African Americans in Cincinnati, as well as recently receiving the Cincinnati Collective Empowerment Group Business Award for his leadership and innovative work in the city. Out of all of his accomplishments and assignments, nothing compares to the joy and loves of his life, “The Big 3”, his lovely wife Pastor Andrea Hayles and their two daughters, Kristina and Kayla.

Pastor Andrea Hayles proudly serves along side her husband, Bishop Gary G. Hayles, as Lead Pastor at The City of Promise Church. Pastor Andrea Hayles has a passion for the Word of God. It is her desire to see God’s Appointed walk into their divine purpose, set for them before the foundation of the earth. She was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Hayles attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. There she met Bishop Hayles. They have been married for 25+ years and are the parents of 2 beautiful daughters, Kristina June and Kayla Marie.
In June 2022, Pastor Hayles graduated from Northern Theological Seminary studying Christian Community Development. She is a sought after preacher who loves to see the manifestation of God and all He is doing in the lives of His people. She has seen God’s amazing power and grace at work among His chosen people. As lead Pastor of one of the fastest growing ministries within the city of Cincinnati, Pastor Hayles knows that with a climate and culture embracing an anti-God mindset, only God along with His mighty
army can change this culture for Christ. Pastor Hayles knows that the calling on her life is strictly about Kingdom building and is in awe and amazement that God is using her to make a difference.
