Media & Marketing Director - Fairfield, Ohio
RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and works to oversee all marketing & media department roles and leads, and teams.

FUNCTION: Responsible for the internal and external media & marketing activities of City of Promise Church.
Oversee the following:
-
The marketing of the church through advertising, social media, print and digital design, and traditional, electronic, and emerging media.

The media production, process, & protocol as it relates to weekly service and event functions.

The “hands-on” efforts with both internal and external communications activities aggressively seeking to foster the church’s mission and improve the “brand” while enabling cross-communications between the staff, session, ministries, committees, and the congregation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create and execute communication/marketing/media strategies to advance the core strategies of the church’s mission statement and preserve a positive image.
2. Develop, recommend, and implement the communication/marketing/media strategies for the church including:

a. Specific strategies to meet yearly church goals established in cohesion with the vision of the senior leader and core staff
-
b. Specific marketing strategies for ministry events and happenings regularly
-
c. Specific social media strategies that help to build the overall brand
-
d. Branding strategies that are fresh, current, and true to the mission of the church.
-
e. Media strategies to further develop a positive and growing online presence.
-
f. Production strategies to ensure a consistent and well designed production and recording structure for both online and in house production.
3. Oversee all media & production including:
-
a. Sunday/Thursday media operations and functions
-
b. Online services, streams, & the technical aspects of online events
-
c. Weekly media and productions recordings, deadlines, and functions
-
d. Media staff, volunteers, and personnel
4. Communicate information regarding the church, its mission, and activities to appropriate targeted audiences through existing communications such as the newsletter, Sunday bulletin, email, blog, and develop other channels as needed.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with church leaders and media representatives at all levels.
6. Oversee the improvement and management of the church’s website and social media. Supervise outside designers, printers and other vendors, and perform other duties as assigned.
7. Develop and manage the annual communications/marketing/media budget
8. Involvement and participation in the life of the church is required to give the best understanding and insight into the church and its mission.
9. Provide regular training and weekly meetings for marketing & media department participants for them to stay informed and up to date with the vision and goals of the department.
10. Provide weekly/monthly statistical data and reports with proper evaluations and recommendations based on trends
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field is OR at least 5+ years of work related experience.
EXPERIENCE: Professional work in public information, journalism, advertising, marketing, current communication technologies, or related field. Experience in working in a church environment is preferred.
SKILLS:
• Must be able to demonstrate strong managerial skills and excellent written/oral communication skills
• Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of media strategies and processes
• Must have an understanding of printing and publication processes
• Must have strong computer skills with the ability to train others on web updates as needed
• Needs broad understanding of marketing and mass communication utilizing current media and emerging technologies (radio, TV, print, web, social media, etc.)
• Must have the ability to work with diverse personalities and interests
• Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours in relation to church events and meetings such as session or committee/team meetings
• Must possess the ability to handle stress, work independently and as a team member, and deal with people in a professional and Christian manner.
